Pros and cons of Grammar Up app for iPhone and iPad
Grammar Up app good for
For kids in Japan (especially my lazy sons) who desperately need a good software to help them raise their TOIEC points, I finally found something ideal. Great value for the price.
I cant even think of a better application to brush up your english. Its simply perfect.i give 10 out of 5 :).Hope more exercises are coming up.
Grammar Up represents the best of the iTunes App store. The price is more than reasonable for what u get. The app contains very huge question bank, I have never seen before. Good work.
When I was looking for a grammar app I considered 3 things 1) will it covers all kind of grammar questions 2) will it have good question bank 3) should I track my progress. This has so far done all great. I also like simple user interface. This app is a great value.
This is really nice piece to study grammar. I just hope there would be some explanation with answers; like meaning of idioms... So I dont have to look into another apps to find the meanings. Just simple explanation with one or more examples.
Grammar Up is an interesting and handy tool. For learning grammar. I have been (playing) with it for the past week. I used word playing because its a quiz game. Where while playing you can learn English grammar it covers all basic concepts with simple user interface. Really cool app.
Some bad moments
This app concept is great but the grammatical errors in the program make it worthless.
Im not impressed. There are many errors in this app. I feel jilted for having paid for this.
Not worth paying for the little amount of material included. Poorly organized. Its as if it was put together by a marketing guy that know how to sell; many websites mention this as being a good app.
Expensive for what it is. It will not keep score for the general test. And do not give explanations for your mistakes.
The grammer questions are easy and dont test your knowledge of the rules. Some of the questions contain grammar errors themselves. They dont provide many grammar rules. The grammar rules they do provide are inadequate. Save your five bucks because if you actually learn something from this app, then you are very far behind and should consider buying a book.
I am an English teacher. I bought this app thinking I could use it to help students who were struggling with a particular concept. The tests are set up well, but are full of errors or ambiguous questions. Several answers are only deciphered if you have context outside the sentence or can guess well. The BIGGEST concern I have is the fact that a program claiming to test knowledge on grammar has so many grammar mistakes in the actual questions. For example, theyll ask about adverbs but have mispellings, missing articles (a, an, the), or incorrect verb forms. That is simply not effective in helping someone who is learning or refreshing grammar.
